Risk & Title
- Transfer of Risk – Risk passes to the buyer once the item is sold (hammer down), not on collection. - Title Transfer – Ownership transfers only upon full cleared payment. - Insurance – Buyers are responsible for insurance of goods immediately after the auction ends.
Default & Non-Payment
- Failure to Pay – If payment is not received within 7 days: The sale may be cancelled. The item may be re-sold. - The buyer may be liable for any loss, storage fees, or resale charges. - Storage Charges – Goods not collected within 14 days may incur storage charges. - Account Suspension – Watling JCB may suspend or block bidding accounts for non-payment, chargebacks, or fraudulent activity.
Anti-Fraud & Security
- Bank Account Verification – Watling JCB will never request payment to any alternative bank account via email alone. Buyers must verify bank details directly with Watling JCB before transferring funds. - No Escrow or Third-Party Payments – Payments through third-party escrow accounts or unknown intermediaries are not permitted. - Account Verification – Watling JCB reserves the right to request proof of identity, address, and company registration before approving bidding access.

Collection & Safety

  • Buyer Responsibility During Collection – Buyers or their appointed hauliers are responsible for loading, securing, and transporting goods safely and legally.

  • Identification Requirement – Buyers must provide photographic ID and proof of purchase upon collection.

  • Haulier Authorisation – If a third party is collecting, written authorisation must be provided.

Export Requirements

  • Export Compliance – Buyers are solely responsible for adhering to export laws, duties, customs requirements, and obtaining necessary licences.

  • Proof of Export – Mandatory for any VAT zero-rating, as noted. Lack of documentation may result in VAT being charged or withheld.

Watling JCB Requires full payment within 7 days after the auction finish date.
I am registered for VAT in the EU do Watling JCB need any documentation to prove my VAT validity?
Yes, on receipt of a Certificate of Incorporation/VAT Registration Certificate. We also require proof that lots have been exported to another country. Proof of export must come from a third party such as: Shipping Certificate, CMR, Haulage Invoice or Re-Registration document.
Can I Withdraw my Bid after I Submit it?
No, All bids once they have been placed are final and irrevocable. When you click the bid button you are submitting a binding bid in the amount displayed in the bid button to the auctioneer. If you are the high bidder and the auctioneer sells the lot to you, you are the new owner of the lot. So, if you do not intend to buy the item, do not click your bid button.
